Doran Rolston passed away peacefully on March 17, 2016 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 88, after suffering a major stroke. Doran was born in Wroxeter, Ontario, and always demonstrated a zest for life. She was married to David Rolston for 52 years. She is predeceased by her parents Walter Russell Greenley and Isabella Maude Fulton, her husband David, her brother Walter (Jack), and her sister Irma. She is survived by her sister Wilma Greenley MacGregor, her daughter Lynda Curl (Ronald), her granddaughters Deborah Bowers (Richard) and Angela Black (Dana), and four great grandchildren: Michael, Timothy, and Christopher Bowers, and Ainslie Black.

Doran loved to travel and spend time with her family. She also loved food – eating it, going out to restaurants, and making food to share with others and then having a competitive card game afterwards. Throughout her life she enjoyed playing musical instruments, including saxophone, bass guitar, and electric guitar. Doran knit and crocheted many items for family members and people in her church and every great grandchild received their own baby blanket. She was always generous and cheerful. All through her life she and her husband supported missions financially, in prayer, having missionaries stay in their homes, and hosting missionary banquets. When her daughter Lynda and her husband went to Haiti as missionaries, Doran and David would go visit them every year. In fact, it was on one trip to Haiti that she taught Debbie to play saxophone, so that they could play duets at church together. On another trip, she taught Angela and Debbie to knit.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 21, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the McCallum & Palla Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at the Huron Chapel Evangelical Missionary Church in Auburn on Tuesday, March 22, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Huron Chapel.
