<div itemprop="description">SHEPHARD <br> <br>Dorothy Anne “Dot” Shephard of Goderich passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016 in her 97th year at Huronview Home in Clinton. Predeceased by her husband, Roy in January 2009. Survived by two sons David (Margot) and Peter (Marian), 5 grandchildren David (Roz), Coreen (Scott), Dohn (Yukiko), Luke and Anna (Regan), 13 great grandchildren Tyler, Joshua, Zachary, Meghan, James, Yuna, Mei, Leighton, Evey, Emerson, Hunter, Carter and Camryn. Also survived by one sister Pauline Thiel of Moers, Germany and nephews Peter, Michael, and Christian, several great nieces and nephews in Germany and sister-in-law Jean Hoding and niece Jacky of London, England. Born in Bristol, England on October 23, 1920 to Albert and Daisy Gower, Dorothy then lived in London, England and later served in the Royal Air Force W.A.A.F. as a leading Aircraftswoman. Dorothy wed Roy Shephard in 1942, and they enjoyed a married life of over 66 years. Dorothy and Roy came to Canada in 1957 and lived in Toronto, Oakville, Vancouver and then came to Goderich in 1995. Dorothy loved her career in women’s fashion and cosmetics, including as a buyer for Holt Renfrew in Toronto and Woodward’s in Vancouver. Dorothy enjoyed curling and tennis well into her 70’s and continued to watch both sports television in later years. An avid gardener and nature lover with an enjoyment of a dry martini at the end of the working day. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place.
