<div itemprop="description">Pitre, Gerald &ldquo;Gerry&rdquo; - Surrounded by his family, Gerry passed away peacefully at home on February, 10, 2014 in his 84th year. Survived by his loving, caring wife of 57 years Louise (nee Pillon). Loving father of Patricia Hodges (John), Mike Pitre (Terrie), Shirley-Jo (Paul), Chris Pitre (Lisa) and Tom Pitre (Heather). He was Pipi to 11 grandchildren and Great Pipi to 14 grandchildren. Survived by his siblings Winny Ward (Joe), Reg Pitre (Claire), Joyce Chauchon and Marilyn O&rsquo;Flynn (Julius). Brother in law of Paul Masse, Nina Duggan and Shirley Raymond. Gerry will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario to Hilda and Reg Pitre. In 1957 Gerry married the love of his live and they moved to Goderich and raised their 5 children. Gerry&rsquo;s love of sports; hockey and fastball, in particular, kept him active in the community and in several municipalities where he umpired fastball in Huron: Perth, Grey, Bruce and Middlesex Counties. He was instrumental in orchestrating the beginning of the Labour Day Fastball Tournament here in Goderich. He worked for Skeoch Business Equipment in Goderich where he retired after 47 years. Visitation will be held Friday, February 13th, 2015 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the McCallum and Palla Funeral home. Parish Prayers will be held Friday evening at 5:45. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 14th, 2015 at St. Peter&rsquo;s Catholic Church at 11 a.m. (Eulogy at 10:45 a.m.) In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Elizabeth Patient Care gratefully acknowledged.</div>
