<div itemprop="description">It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Gordon Lorne Thomas on June 21st, 2015, in his 87th year, peacefully at his summer home on Lake Huron, surrounded by his loving daughters, Sandra Strawbridge (John) of Port Albert, Gayle Purser (Barron) of Goderich, Terry Pautler (Terrance) of Goderich, and Christine Yurchuk (Bill) of Sarnia. Cherished grandfather (papa) to 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Muriel (Cole) Thomas, infant brother, brother Don, sister-in-law Shirley Thomas and brother-in-law Don Elliott. Survived by brothers Ted and Walt (Marion), and sisters-in-law Midge Thomas and Lois Elliott and many nieces and nephews. Born in Vancouver, BC on September 29th, 1928, youngest child to Lillian Marietta (Edwards) Thomas and Henry Charles Thomas. He moved to Goderich and then to Stratford where he met and married Muriel Francis Cole, and then returned to Goderich in 1974. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer, and was well known and loved for his sense of humour and wit. He worked hard as a plasterer, brick layer, 10 plus years at Samsonite, Stratford and as a drywaller. He spent countless hours of hard work and enjoyment over 65 years at Hunter&rsquo;s Beach. Cremation with interment will be at a private family service at the Maitland Cemetery in Goderich. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Canadian Multiple Sclerosis Society or the charity of your choice <br /></div>
