Westlake, John Charles (Jack)
September 1, 1924 – November 21, 2015

At the end of a long life, well lived, Jack passed away at Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich on November 21, 2015 in his 92nd year. He was born in Wroxeter and raised in Colborne Township, the third of four children born to Will and Emma Westlake. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Isobel Girvin (2014), his parents, his older brother Harry and younger brother George. Jack and Isobel shared almost 70 years of marriage. Following his wife’s passing Jack remained in their home in Dundas for a period of time, then returned to Goderich in July of this year and greatly benefitted for the company and support he received at Goderich Place. Jack was deeply loved by his late wife Isobel, his son Girvin Westlake and daughter Ann Westlake, his cherished sister Pearl Fowler, his special niece Yvonne Kerr and by many members of his extended family. His family shares the pain of losing Jack with the many wonderful people with whom he shared the special bond of friendship over so many years, most notably his remaining pals Ernie and Don. Jack will long be remembered for his social nature, his love of people and life in general, his wonderful curiosity, his loyalty to his work, his family, his friends and for his extraordinary robust and resilient nature. We always felt he would simply live forever. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home (11 Cambria Road North, Goderich) on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 12 – 1 p.m. with a service to follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to Emmanuel Home, Hamilton, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 Goderich or the charity of your choice and would be greatly appreciated.

You’ll never be forgotten Jack!
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends.”
