Surrounded by his family and while receiving the compassionate care of the nursing staff at Alexander Marine & General Hospital, Larry William James Littlechild, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday March, 9, 2015. This followed a courageous battle with cancer during which he received excellent nursing care and support, in his home, from Tracy.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Glenda of 43 years. He is cherished father and grandfather to his daughter Laurie, son Chuck, daughter Tammie (Brent) and grandsons Dillon, Robin and Keaton. He also leaves behind his younger siblings Bonny, Bill (Maggie), Nick (Chris), Lee (Ellen), Adam (Debbie), Bev (Steve) and Mary Ann (Conrad). Larry will be missed by his sister-in law Joan (Carl) and brothers-in-law Ted (Nancy) and Jim (Helen) and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Grace and sister Penny.
Larry enjoyed both his work and co-workers over his 41 year career with Volvo. Larry liked spending time with friends playing baseball, hunting and fishing or just relaxing in his backyard oasis. No matter how big or small the task, Larry always lent a helping hand to his family and friends.
The family is holding a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 56 Kingston Street, Goderich, on Saturday, March 21, 2015, 1:00-4:00pm. Memories at 2:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #109, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation-Palliative Care or Community Care Access Centre.
