Predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Cyril Thomas Osborne (July 12th, 2005).

Rita was born in India (British Subject), and served as a nurse during WWII where she met and married Cyril who was serving as a member of the British Armed Forces. Rita and Cyril were married in Ahwaz, Persia. She was given away by an executive of the Anglo Indian Oil Company, her bridal gown was made in the local souk, the service was held in a newly constructed adobe church, and the reception was given in the Mess of a Company of U.S. military engineers.

Rita and Cyril and their two children immigrated to Canada from the U.K. in 1949, and Rita stood proudly beside her husband during his 16 years as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. Throughout their army life they travelled all over the world, and Rita never missed an opportunity to reiterate her many experiences relating to the people that touched their lives in so many different countries. In 1988 Rita and Cyril retired in Goderich where Rita thoroughly enjoyed tending to her rose gardens, knitting afghans for overseas missions, bird watching, and spending winters in Florida.

At Rita’s request there will be no visitation or service.
